Every pressroom already has a reference
Most converting plants already have a handheld instrument that serves as the reference for color control. Targets have been approved with it. Operators know how to work with it. Color libraries, substrates, and tolerances have been built around it over time.
That creates an obvious challenge when introducing inline measurement: the inline system needs to fit into that existing measurement environment.
If handheld and inline instruments do not align, teams can end up working with two sets of values, adapting existing libraries, or interpreting differences between the two systems. That adds complexity where the objective of inline measurement should be to simplify color control.
What Instrument Matching does
Instrument Matching allows DeltaOne to be aligned with the reference instrument already used in your pressroom — whether that is a Techkon, X-Rite, or another compatible instrument.
The goal is straightforward: when your teams move between handheld and inline measurement, they can continue working with the same quality reference they already know and trust.
There is no need to create a separate DeltaOne color library or redefine the way your team works with color data. Your existing references, targets, and color information remain part of the workflow.

What changes in practice

What does not change
Instrument Matching does not change the way DeltaOne measures. DeltaOne still reads 36 spectral bands on colorbars down to 2 × 2 mm, delivers 0.1 ΔE repeatability at speeds of up to 500 m/min, and measures both edges of the web while identifying each reading by side.
What changes is how DeltaOne fits into your existing measurement environment. Instead of introducing a separate reference for inline measurement, DeltaOne can now be aligned with the instrument your team already uses.
