Inline spectral scanner

DeltaOne.

Inline spectral color control at production speed. DeltaOne continuously measures the running web, giving operators the color information they need without stopping the press — powered by Multispectral Imaging and Veoria's on-press software.

How it works — 01 · The technology

How Multispectral Imaging works.

DeltaOne combines spectrophotometric accuracy, geometric verification, and automatic detection in a single inline system: stable, repeatable, and fast enough to keep up with your press. A calibrated illuminant, an optical zoom that frames each patch, a 36-band spectral read: from light to ΔE in real time.

How it works — 02 · Where it measures

The screen doesn't just say an ink is drifting. It says where.

A motorized head, up to two colorbars per job, and software that attributes every reading to its side of the web.

DeltaOne cross-web measurement — one motorized head, two colorbars, side-tagged readings Top view of a running web: the printed job — a repeated label — in the middle, with a colorbar along each edge — gear side and operator side. A motorized scanner head traverses the full web width and positions itself on either colorbar. Every reading is tagged with its side, so a drift on both sides points to the ink while a drift on one side points to a local cause: impression, doctor blade, anilox. 4 012345 678901 CROSS-WEB MEASUREMENT — TOP VIEW One head, both sides of the web — kept apart in the data. 01

The head goes to the colorbar

The scanner head is motorized and traverses the full width of the web. Wherever a job places its colorbar — gear side, operator side, or both — DeltaOne positions itself on it. The head follows the layout, not the other way around.

02

Two colorbars, one instrument

A job can carry a colorbar on each side of the web — DeltaOne measures both, alternating between them on the run. Every reading is tagged with its side, so the two edges of the web appear as two separate curves on screen.

03

Drift, localized

Because every measurement is attributed to its colorbar, the software separates a press-wide drift from a local one. When both sides move together, the cause is likely the ink; when one side moves alone, it is likely local — impression, doctor blade, anilox. Comparing the two sides helps operators narrow down the source of a variation.

One screen. One glance. One decision.

DeltaOne runs on Veoria's own on-press application. It turns continuous measurement into clear operator guidance.

Instrument matching

Your reference. Now inline.

Instrument Matching aligns DeltaOne with the reference instrument used in your pressroom — Techkon, X-Rite, or another compatible instrument. Maintain the quality standards you already work to, from handheld measurement to inline control.

One reference, everywhere

The handheld on the color desk and DeltaOne on the press read against the same reference. Operators move between the two without translating numbers.

Keep your color library

No dedicated DeltaOne library to create or maintain. The targets and tolerances you have are the ones it measures against.

Press compatibility

Designed to fit your floor.

One rule decides it: DeltaOne reads the colorbar along the running web, not across its width. That suits web-fed presses whose ink film is uniform across the web — presses without zonal ink keys.

01

Flexo

Anilox-metered by design, so ink is even across the web. The most common DeltaOne deployment. See the Eshuis case study for measured results.

02

Offset — anilox

Keyless offset, where an anilox roller meters the ink. Conventional offset with ink keys is not supported: correcting it needs a reading per key zone across the web, which a machine-direction measurement cannot provide.

03

Digital

No ink keys at all. Measure at full production speed on digital web presses, without slowing the imaging path.

04

Gravure

Ink metered by cell volume, so again even across the web. Wide-web deployment for flexible packaging and decorative substrates, at the same 2 × 2 mm patch precision.

Web-fed only. DeltaOne measures on a running web; sheet-fed presses are outside its scope.

FAQ

Frequent questions.

Is DeltaOne compatible with color management software?
Yes. DeltaOne runs Veoria's own on-press software, and measurements export to MeasureColor, ChromaChecker, and other systems that read spectral data.
Will DeltaOne's numbers match my handheld?
Yes — with Instrument Matching, DeltaOne is aligned to the reference instrument your pressroom uses, whether Techkon, X-Rite, or another compatible instrument. Your color library and targets stay in place.
What patch size is needed?
DeltaOne measures colorbar patches down to 2 × 2 mm, leaving more substrate for the printed design and less colorbar overhead per impression.
Can DeltaOne tell me where a color deviation comes from?
It helps narrow it down. Every reading is attributed to its colorbar, so the software shows whether a drift affects one side of the web or both — a pattern that points operators toward the likely cause, ink-wide or local.
How does the system handle temperature variations?
DeltaOne uses an internal white ceramic reference and runs automatic calibration cycles, compensating press-floor temperature drift and preserving 0.1 ΔE repeatability across long runs.
What does installation look like?
A typical installation takes a single day with the press team. Veoria commissions the system, trains operators, and stays involved after go-live.
